About

Hi, I'm Yuqing Zheng.

Independent product and interaction designer. I spent three and a half years designing game interactions at Tencent TiMi, owning core interfaces and system interactions for a large-scale game. It taught me to make dense, many-state systems clear, and to stay steady when it matters. Rather than stopping at paper specs, I like bringing ideas to life. I now work independently: running a project end to end, or as the designer alongside your team.

Education

University of Technology Sydney
2020 – 2022
Master of Interaction Design
McMaster University
2016 – 2020
Bachelor of Studio Art

My design path started in art: four years of studio art gave me a sensitivity to form, and interaction design channelled it into a rational framework. I know what looks right, and how to make it truly usable.

How I work

  1. Clarify before drawing

Goals, users, states and edge cases are worked out first, so every screen has a reason.

  2. Decisions you can question

Every design choice comes with a why, and can be challenged and tested.

  3. Finish the details

Not just design files: every state gets resolved, and what I hand over works when you open it.
