01

Goal

Make a game of my own, from the first idea to a playable build. The design goal was a game anyone from kids to grandparents can pick up instantly: rules understood at a glance, no tutorial, and a reason to keep going.

02

My role

Gameplay, visuals, sound and every product decision were mine, carried through to a working build. Icons, copy and the closing of every state were finished by me.

Key decisions

Rules that need no teaching, plus one long goal. Connect identical particles to merge them, evolving from quarks, atoms and cells to planets, galaxies and the singularity. The rules need no teaching; the 15-tier chain keeps pulling you forward. The start screen grows with the player: newcomers see guidance, veterans see their collection and a harder challenge. Skip the candy colours. A cold, dark star-trail palette wraps a simple mechanic in the quiet of gazing at the cosmos, and sets it apart among mini games. Independent does not mean rough. Hit targets no smaller than 44px, and motion and sound finished state by state, nothing left half-done.
